I write this with joy and with grief. At 11:30 this morning my dad went to be with the Lord. My mom was with him when he passed away and I'm so glad that she was able to be with him. The Lord has such good timing in that right now there are some conferences going on in Dallas, so some of our good friends are here and able to attend the memorial service. The memorial service will be held on Thursday evening. If you would like to send cards our address here is:
402 Meadowlark Ln.
Duncanville, TX 75137
We'd like to ask you to not spend money to send us flowers (or other things), but if you would like to give something, please donate it to cancer research in memory of Ken Ghent. Thanks so much for all of your prayers! I will be staying down in TX for a while longer.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad :(, yet thankful that your dad is in a much better place, where there are no more tears. I'll be praying for you and your family.

Hey Brenna, You, your Mom and Garret are in our prayers. We will be praying that the service is a special time for God to be honored in the life of Your Dad. I decided to come and visit your Mom in about a month when things slow down.
ReplyDeleteLove you,

ReplyDeleteBrenna, you don't know me, but our son Philip was in Garrett's graduating class at UISSC in 2005. We here in Ukarumpa are praying for you, Garrett and your mom during this very difficult time. May our Lord comfort you all as only He can as you say good-bye on Earth to your dear Dad.
ReplyDeleteBrenna, Thank you for sharing your story and your Dad's story. Your father was a very special man, one I admired as a colleague and appreciated as a friend. I have, and always will, hold him in high regard.
